There’s little more we could say at this point to underscore just how blazing hot Willson Contreras has been lately, but you don’t want to act like what he’s doing is no big deal. Because wow.
In the first inning today, Contreras blasted yet ANOTHER homer, his fifth of the second half, tied for the second most in baseball:
Most HR since All-Star break
6 Giancarlo Stanton
5 Willson Contreras
5 Nolan Arenado
5 Michael Conforto
5 Matt Chapman
5 Bryce Harper

That was Contreras’s 16th homer of the year, raising his line to .270/.334/.498. How about enjoying the trajectory of all 16 of ’em:

God bless him. And not just for his production on the baseball field. Look at what he was doing before the game:
what a birthday gift. pre-game,Contreras presented jersey, etc. to Advocate Childrens Hospital patient Daniel Rodgriguez for his 10th B-Day.

I’m going to guess that Daniel was watching, overjoyed by the shot. Happy Birthday, Daniel!
