Not Actually Enhanced Box Score: Giants 3, Cubs 1 – August 9, 2017

Enhanced Box Scores

Today was a very bad day.

The Cubs lost to a terrible Giants team for the second day in a row. In so doing, the Cubs dropped their third straight series, and the cluster at the top of the NL Central is right upon them.

Kyle Hendricks was not able to complete five innings, as his signature – required – command left him.

Brian Duensing and Pedro Strop gave up runs for the first time in a long time. (Admittedly, Duensing’s run was the product of the worst luck ever.)

The Cubs did nothing offensively outside of an Albert Almora homer. The game was horrible.

And then Willson Contreras pulled up lame as the game drew to a close, and we’re left to wait on the probably-not-good news.

Today was a very bad day.

And now, thanks to technological difficulties, I’m not able to construct the Enhanced Box Score for the first time in years. Somehow, that seems very fitting.
