Chicago Cubs Lineup: Albert Almora Jr. Draws a Rare Start Against a Righty

Cubs Lineups

The Cubs have already taken care of business this weekend, but I’d by lying if I didn’t say one more win would feel especially great.

Here’s the lineup for today’s finale:

  1. Jon Jay, LF
  2. Kris Bryant, 3B
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Willson Contreras, C
  5. Ben Zobrist, 2B
  6. Addison Russell, SS
  7. Jason Heyward, RF
  8. Albert Almora Jr., CF
  9. Jose Quintana, P

Chase Anderson is starting for the Brewers this afternoon, and the right-hander has had reverse splits this season:

Versus Lefties: .260 wOBA
Versus Righties: .302 wOBA

That probably helps explain why you’re seeing Albert Almora Jr. in the starting lineup today – I mean, aside from the fact that he’s been nails in the second half (.328/.333/.504; 114 wRC+).

Other than that, Javy Baez gets the day off as Addison Russell covers short and Ben Zobrist plays second base. Jon Jay is leading off this afternoon, as the Cubs look to make it 3 out of 4 from the Brewers.

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (1:10 CT).
