Obsessive Ohtani Watch: No Deal Yet on Posting Agreement, but MLBPA Agrees to Extend Deadline

MLB News and Rumors

Well, it’s a one-day reprieve from the self-imposed deadline of 7pm CT tonight.

As announced by the MLB Players Association:

Here’s where Jeff Passan said things were earlier today:

Everyone has a strong incentive to get a final posting agreement in place as soon as possible, so the fact that they’re continuing negotiations for the next 24 hours tells me that they believe they are close to resolving the outstanding issues.

I expect we’ll hear about an agreement tomorrow (or that it’s definitely going to get done), and Ohtani will be posted in early December. It just feels like, despite the hurdles, that’s where the trajectory has been all along.
