Although we still have so much offseason fun ahead of us (rumors, trades, surprises, lions, etc.), I was thrilled to see the Cubs Spring Training schedule come out yesterday.
The offseason is a blast and the best is yet to come, but watching people play baseball is why we’re all really here. The newly released schedule, then, was a tiny reminder that, hey, baseball isn’t too far away, and as soon as it starts, we’ll get a lot of it.
The Cubs’ schedule showed that there are 34 games on the docket for this spring, the first of which was scheduled for February 23 and the last on March 25.
However, two more non-Cactus-League exhibition games have been added to the end of the schedule, and they should be good ones:

Two straight games against the Red Sox in their home Spring Training stadium just before the Cubs kick things off against the Marlins as the first game of the 2018 MLB season?! Uh, yes please. That’s going to be awesome.
Since the Cubs open up in Miami anyway, they’ll already be headed to that side of the country for Opening Day (the very first game of the year, by the way). Nice fit.
… And now I can’t wait for more baseball.
