Spring Training or not, crummy pitcher or not, this is freaking impressive.
The Cubs are playing the Padres right now in the first half of their split-squad day, and Willson Contreras just let Jordan Lyles know what is up. Loudly:

God bless you, Manuel Margot in center field, but you are not getting close to that one. It’s 410 to center there in Peoria, and Willson knocked that thing way up on the batter’s eye.
On a team with Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Kyle Schwarber, Ian Happ, and Javy Baez (among others), Willson Contreras may not be the first Cub you think of when considering raw power, but obviously the dude has it in spades.
The best part of the home run? Jordan Lyles’ reaction matched Willson Contreras’s nearly exactly, albeit for very different reasons. Immediate head down. And Lyles literally kicked dirt, too. Haha. Awesome.
