Pre-Gamin’: Cubs at Royals (3:05 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Later today (3:05 CT), the Chicago Cubs will face the Kansas City Royals at their home ball park in Surprise, Arizona for a little Cactus League action.

Depth-starter Alec Mills will get the start for the Cubs in this one, and he’ll be backed up by some combination of Justin Wilson, Justin Grimm, Dillon Maples, Steve Cishek, Cory Mazzoni, and Randy Rosario.

Right-hander Ian Kennedy is getting the start opposite him, and he’ll face a lineup mostly devoid of nominal Cubs starters. HOWEVER, the three Cub regulars he will have to face – right at the top – will be tough: Ian Happ, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo. We’ll get into it a bit more later today, but I wouldn’t be surprised if those are the top three we see on Opening Day two weeks from tomorrow.

From the Royals side, we’ll see two old friends today, in the form of Jon Jay leading off and playing center and Jorge Soler batting seventh and playing left.

Today’s game isn’t being televised, but you can catch it on the radio at Enjoy!
