Welcome to the Season! Kris Bryant Launches His First Homer of the Year!

Chicago Cubs News

Yesterday, it was Ian Happ, Anthony Rizzo, and Kyle Schwarber launching their first homers of the 2018 season, and today Kris Bryant joins the party with his first long ball of the year.

Take a look:

That homer came after his double in the first inning and put the Cubs up 1-0. And in case you can’t tell from the video, it was no cheepy. According to Statcast, the ball left Bryant’s bat at 109.5 MPH and traveled 426 feet.

Combined with his game yesterday, Bryant now has a walk, two doubles, and a homers in seven plate appearances. That’s a pretty good start to the season.
