Pedro Strop’s Son Can Rake!

Chicago Cubs News

Since joining the Cubs back in 2014, Pedro Strop has become one of the best relievers in baseball. His 3.9 WAR, for example, ranks 23rd during that stretch, while his 2.71 ERA and 3.04 FIP ranks 25th and 30th, respectively.

But one thing he hasn’t yet proven capable of is an ability to hit.

Sure, Strop has only had two chances at the plate throughout his 455 games in the Major Leagues, but he got out both times – even if he did make some hard contact – leaving us with a lifetime slash line of .000/.000/.000. Dang. (He did once take Anthony Rizzo deep, though.)

Maybe Strop can still developing into a two-way star by getting some pointers from his son, who can absolutely rake!

Check it out:

Here’s a video of Strop’s son – a lefty, I like it – cranking a triple to right field in a little league game (and lookin’ good while doing it).

Yeah, sure, he could probably stand to be a little quieter with the bat at the plate and hit the inside of the bags on his turns … but I think we can iron some of those details out when he hits Triple-A Iowa, right?
