When he’s not making simultaneously amazing and hilarious plays in the field, New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon is doing relatively impressive things on the mound. Although he pitched the 2015 season at age 42, Colon posted his third straight year with at least 190 innings and a 2.5 WAR. Guys half his age couldn’t do that.
… ok, that’s mostly true because guys half his age are usually still working out the kinks in college or the minors, but still. It’s very impressive.
Something else Colon does better than most people half his age? Throwin’ some ropes around to get ready for a baseball season:
You've seen the Trout tire workout and Hector Santiago kiss/push-up/sit-up combo. It's Bartolo Colon in the DR time! pic.twitter.com/G6LxOX5D9e

Give Bartolo Colon credit. He's 43 in May & is already grinding for 2016. He also runs an academy for teen prospects pic.twitter.com/R3fQJyajtp

Everything Bartolo does is good. The mind is ready, and the body is surprisingly willing.
For baseball, I mean. Come on, it’s January.
