Man, there’s just nothing like one of these stories.
Landis Sims is, among many other things, a 10-year-old boy who was born without hands or lower legs. And, while I presume that presents daily challenges and obstacles, it didn’t stop him from signing a contract with the New York Yankees earlier this week:

Represented by the Yankees’ own CC Sabathia, Sims signed a one-day deal with the Yankees – and that was just the start of what was ultimately an amazing day for everyone involved.
After signing his deal, Sims chatted with players like Alex Rodriguez and Andrew Miller in the clubhouse before heading out to take some batting practice with Rodriguez, Mark Teixera and others. Yes, batting practice:

Despite what you may think, Sims does amazingly well thanks to an innovative prosthetic, which even allows him to play Little League Baseball.
From all accounts it was an exciting day for Sims and the team. Good on the Yankees for making a kid’s dream come true. You can read more on Sims’ experience, and what it meant to everyone involved, here at MLB.com.
