This offseason, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has been diversifying his skill set. No, he’s not taking fly balls in the outfield or learning to hit from the right side. He’s expanding his mind by learning to play the piano.
Which, I gotta say, is damn cool for a 26-year-old baseball superstar.
He showed off some of his work at Cubs camp:

What, no Fur Elise?
I imagine it’s only a matter of time before Rizzo is a full-on Billy Joel clone, in which case he’ll have himself set up nicely for a post-playing career tickling the ivory.
Side note: “tickling the ivory” is among the best expressions ever, and I want to thank Rizzo for allowing me to use it in proper context.
