St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Randal Grichuk struck a ball to deep center field that almost turned into an incredible catch by Keon Broxton.
Instead, it turned into a home run for Grichuk when the ball came off Broxton’s glove over the wall. Not so highlight-worthy?
Well, here’s the thing. Because of the uncertainty of what was happening in the outfield, the Cardinals pulled the ultimate no-no on the basepaths: Grichuk passed Brandon Moss at first base:
Fortunately for the Cardinals, who went on to win 7-0, no one seemed to notice that it had happened. Had the umpires and/or Brewers seen, Grichuk would have been out by rule, credited with a crazy RBI single.
Instead, it’s a homer. Just a homer. And a funny play.
