On Tuesday evening, the Chicago White Sox took on the New York Mets. For the Sox, Mat Latos took the mound, and opposing him for the Mets was starter Steven Matz. Because the game was held in New York (an NL stadium), both pitchers had to hit. One of them, however, was a little more excited than the other:
Even though the clean-up hitter (fourth) was due up and Matz was batting ninth, there he was: standing on deck, helmet on, donut around the bat, taking his swings. Oh Steven, I know you want to hit, but you have to wait your turn!
Hey, I’d be excited to take a hack in the big leagues, too.
