Ballboy Makes A Spectacular Dive, But No Catch, Smith Pays the Price

Funny and Happy

If watching the movie ‘Rudy’ one thousand times has taught me anything (and it hasn’t), it’s that effort is all that matters in life. If you work hard, practice hard, try hard, and leave nothing on the table, you’ll succeed.

I’m guessing this Oakland A’s ball boy would care to disagree:

When a 2-2 foul ball came screeching down the third base line and towards the A’s bullpen, an athletic Athletic ball boy made the most spectacular looking non-play I’ve ever seen.

Usually, when it looks that good and you try that hard, you’ll make the play. But like I said, we didn’t learn anything from Rudy (What?! Does he just deserve a shot to play in one of the best football programs in the country just because he – like – really wants to? Give me a break).

Anyway, Chris Smith pays the ultimate price. Check it out again in gif form:

I’m not kidding though, that dive is a perfect 10/10 (besides the, uh, you know, coming up with the ball part).
