Back at the beginning of December, a young Astros fan (or an adult with hilariously horrific grammar and handwriting – can’t confirm), wrote to GM Jeff Luhnow with the following request:
Sound logic don't you think? pic.twitter.com/4hueD0c6fq
— Jeff Luhnow (@jluhnow) December 13, 2016
Essentially, 7-year-old Will Erickson is lobbying the Houston Astros’ GM to hang onto outfielder George Springer because he is 1) his favorite player, 2) gets his hair cut the same way (a mohawk, of course), and 3) is a team leader.
It’s hard to argue with that.

And so far, Luhnow has kept his word – George Springer is still an Astro. Although, to be fair, Lunhow technically had to comply with the request, less he anger the BABIP Gods:
Wow. When a kid sends you this letter, you're bound by the laws of BABIP gods and men to oblige. https://t.co/qle5jMlrIP

But the fun doesn’t end there.
The Astros tracked down this young super-fan (and future GM), to acknowledge him for his savvy advice. The reward? A day and – naturally – a hair cut with his hero, George Springer.
Check it out:
Remember Will, who sent a letter to @jluhnow about not trading Springer? He & George got their hair cut today!

You can read more about their day here, including some extra special bits about Will. As an example: Will got a George Springer bobble head for Christmas this year, but immediately dropped (and broke) it out of excitement.
This kid is amazingly hilarious.
According to the Astros, Will and his family will return Minute Maid Park sometime this season to catch a game and some batting practice, courtesy of Springer. What a world.
