Super Bowl LI between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots doesn’t start for a few more days, but that hasn’t prevented the trash talk from getting underway.
Indeed, the official Twitter accounts of the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox have been passive aggressively poking one another for a while now. And it all started with this relatively innocuous tweet:
Hey @RedSox, hope you're ready to join us #InBrotherhood pic.twitter.com/BneBPUHHz4
— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) February 3, 2017
Oh wow, how nice.
The Braves are extending a friendly hand. That’ll likely close the book on any differences … nope.

Instead of returning the favor with a friendly GIF of their own, the Red Sox handed back baseball’s version of you got served:
.@Braves Not so sure about that… We're busy looking for #OneMore! pic.twitter.com/hznkqhswcI
— Boston Red Sox (@RedSox) February 3, 2017
Playing coy, the Braves responded subtly, but effectively:
.@RedSox One more…@AtlantaFalcons win? pic.twitter.com/b4xvc8QLtO
— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) February 3, 2017
And so began the back and forth ….

First, the Red Sox:
.@Braves Um… We're planning to spend our Sunday celebrating a @Patriots W. pic.twitter.com/mKvXCyODEe

Then, the Braves:

Back to the Red Sox:

And again the Braves:
.@RedSox Indeed we will! pic.twitter.com/9hkFR9fyR0

Then some random dude:
.@Braves @RedSox yall got me conflicted as a Braves/Patriots fan

And finally, the Braves:

Who won? The Braves? The Red Sox? Everyone? And who’ll win this Sunday? Also, what’s the record for consecutive questions at the end of an article? Happy Friday!
