Remembering a Cheerful Yordano Ventura Headed to the 2015 World Series

In case you missed the awful news, Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura, and former big leaguer Andy Marte, were killed in car accidents in the Dominican Republic earlier this offseason. It’s a terrible tragedy and I don’t think I can offer much in the way of comforting or healing words.

With that said, I have found that – in these situations – focusing on the good tends to make things feel a little bit better, at least until they actually are. So let’s go back-up to just before the 2015 World Series – the Royals second in two years – and see how excited Yordano Ventura was to be there.
