In the recent past, we all had a good laugh when Major Leaguer Kris Bryant drove Lyfts around Chicago, having fun with unsuspecting riders throughout their trips.
But that was a prank – a dedicated commercial to promote Lyft as a service.
Some other Major Leaguers, like Tampa Bay Rays infielder Nick Franklin, like to drive Ubers … just for fun:
#Rays INF/OF Nick Franklin said he spent a couple days this offseason as an @Uber driver, making 9-10 trips

And that’s not all, people tend to rate him pretty highly.

Indeed, in a later tweet, Marc Topkin revealed that Franklin has a pretty good rating as a driver:
#Rays Franklin has driven for @Uber in past offseasons, said he was limited this year timewise but still has 4.8 rating

To be sure, this is a guy who’s played in over 200 games at the Major League Level, has hit 22 home runs, and has earned nearly $3 million throughout his young career.
And why does he do it? Well, according to Business Insider Franklin, just “wanted to do something on the weekends,” because he never really does anything.
Whatever revs your engine, I suppose.
