Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has always been more than a one-dimensional talent.
During his relatively short time in the Major Leagues he’s already proven that he can swing it hard, run smart, catch an unexpected ball (or two), and, most importantly, have fun.

Oh, I suppose he can also play a little ditty:

No really, he loves to:

And now that I think of it he doesn’t mind “dancing” either:

Even when it’s live on national television on Saturday night.

But he’s adding yet another skill set to his character sheet. Now, he’s a a gold glover, a silver slugger, a radical runner, a power pianist, a delightful dancer, and … a two-sport athlete:

Okay, not really.
But that was Rizzo playing a little bit of cricket at the Cubs Spring Training facility in Mesa, Arizona with USA’s National team . And, damn, he was crushing those balls.

I also love the amazement from the USA National team members:
You can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice, he was genuinely impressed with Rizzo’s abilities to knock that ball around (and out of) the field.
But despite his potential as a cricketeer, here’s hoping he sticks with baseball.
Even with his gold glove in tow, I’m not sure he could make this kind of insane cricket catch …
