Yesterday, the last-place Philadelphia Phillies beat the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers, in part, due to a brilliant start from Phillies pitcher Nick Pivetta.
Through six innings against one of the best teams in baseball, Pivetta allowed just two earned runs on four hits and two walks, against eight strikeouts.
And although it was a brilliant start all the way around, Pivetta’s very last out is the one that caught everybody’s attention the most. Because that’s when Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes lined one right back up the middle … of Pivetta’s jersey.
Take a look:
That’s absolutely unbelievable … and the 18th/final out Pivetta made that day.
Nice start, dude. Better catch.
