Remember When Giancarlo Stanton Hit That Impossibly Low Opposite Field Homer Against the Cubs?

Homers

Although home runs are not quite as unique as snowflakes, I know that they come in man shapes and sizes.

But this one from Giancarlo Stanton back in 2014 … it just doesn’t make any sense:

After the game, the Cubs pitcher, Jason Hammel, exclaimed that he’s never seen a home run hit like that in his career. “That thing took two seconds to get out of the ball park. I thought it would be a foul ball and hit the base of the wall or something.”

According to ESPN’s Home Run Tracker, that ball left the bat at 110.7 MPH … and never got higher than 48 feet off the ground. Unbelievable.
