On Sunday, the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres got together for a little Spring Training action, when an silly, unexpected play unfolded in the bottom of the third inning.
With no outs, and nobody on, Miguel Gomez hit a soft grounder to Padres second baseman Jose Pirela. But Pirela couldn’t field the ball cleanly, and wound up kicking it away … directly to the first baseman, Eric Hosmer, in time for the out!
I guess getting it done is more important than how you get it done, right?
