Time to Bear Down: Bears at Browns Game Thread

BearSnow

Here’s a final rundown before kickoff. If you missed this morning’s bullets they can be found here. and if you missed my Things to Look For post, it can be found here.

Who: Bears (7-6) at Browns (4-9)

When: Kickoff is at 1 P.M. ET time on FOX; Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick will have the call. (Hold your applause.)

Where: FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland; the forecast calls for windy conditions and a chance of snow, with temperatures in the twenties and a windchill in the low teens. (Now that I’ve seen the forecast, I’m extra-glad I didn’t buy a $20 StubHub Dawg Pound ticket on a whim.)

Notes:

  • If you somehow missed it, Jay Cutler is making his return from a high-ankle sprain that has caused him to miss the previous four games.
  • The Browns will be starting ex-Bear Jason Campbell, who is coming off a career game against New England.
  • These franchises first met in 1951, and Cleveland holds a 9-5 advantage in the all-time series. They last met in Chicago in 2009, in a game the Bears won 30-6. The last time the Bears visited Cleveland was in 2005; that game resulted in a 20-10 Browns victory.
  • If any Brown rushes for 100 yards, it will mark the seventh straight game in which the Bears have allowed an opposing player to reach that plateau, which would be an NFL record.
  • I’ll be on Twitter throughout (@BearsBN) and I’ll make an effort to monitor the comments as well; I’m still learning how to manage all of that while also, you know, watching the game.
