I didn’t make it to 2,000. I know, I know; I’m stunned too. Who could have guessed that a half-baked contest I devised late on a Wednesday night would fail to net me 500 new Twitter followers by Sunday?
In any case, many of you have been very kind by sharing the story, and helping to bring what I’m doing to a wider audience. And most of all, you’ve been kind enough to read. You deserve a Bears blogger who isn’t halfway-invested in the game. I should be experiencing the highs and lows right along with you, not fist-pumping discreetly when Nick Foles throws a touchdown pass to someone other than DeSean Jackson. So, there it is: I’m going with Cutler.
The only caveat: if the Bears are somehow in a position where they’ll be resting starters (a scenario I don’t see as likely) I’ll bench Cutler and Foles, and go with Colin Kaepernick on Monday night. (He and Foles were my two QB’s; I added Cutler last week.) It’s my brother’s team, guys. I still want to win. (Feel free to shame me.)
And so we draw near to the conclusion of this little story arc in which I pretend that any of you actually care about my fantasy team’s lineup construction. Thank you for humoring me, and more importantly, thank you for reading.
