IS THE KOYIE HILL ERA FINALLY OVER?...and the surprising all"after-Koyie"team
Posted 14 June 2012 - 06:38 PM
The Cubs have treated Koyie quite well, better than even some of their own draft picks. Koyie was actually a 4th round draft pick of the Dodgers in 2000. So I decided to do a little digging, look at guys drafted after Koyie in 2000...it's quite surprising:
CURRENT STARS/ALL-STAR TYPES/VERY GOOD
James Shields. Mike Napoli, Ian Kinsler, Michael Bourn, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, Corey Hart, Brian Wilson, Russell Martin, Adam LaRoche
SOLID MLB GUYS/ HAD DECENT CAREERS
Jason Bay, Nate McClouth, Jason Kubel, Josh Willingham, Booby Jenks, Clint Barmes, Rich Harden, Garrett Atkins, Dontrelle Willis,
this is not to endict the Dodgers on a poor draft, these type of picks happen to all teams...its just another cautionary tale on how the amateur draft can be a total crap shoot...
