Sammy Sosa did not receive enough votes yesterday to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but he’s probably about to enter the Hall of Awesome Web Stuff.
Sosa, by way of his Twitter account (which Fred Mitchell has said is authentic), shared his new Pinterest page. It is the most magnificent thing in the history of Web 2.0. Typically used to catalog pictures of stuff you like, recipe ideas, cute outfits, and other “craft-y” type stuff, Pinterest has a certain culture to it. (Wikipedia describes it as, “a pinboard-style photo sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies, and more.”)
Sammy is blowing that culture up, and is instead showing off his personal style.
There remains a small amount of debate concerning the authenticity of the Pinterest page, though the pictures are obviously real. You will have to go to the page to embrace its full magnificence, and let’s try to keep the comments within the realm of respectability, but here’s a sample chunk:
