MG - I dont really know what to think about Ween yet...
Get with the Ween its perfect for a college boy like you. I actually saw them at the Canopy Club multiple times, good venue for live music.

[T]he Canopy Club ... good venue for live music.
Man, I LIVED at the Canopy Club for most of 1998-2000. I'll bet I averaged 2 shows per week. It's a great venue to see a show. The green room sucks though.

Any blues fans out there?
I love blues: SRV, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Sonny Landreth, etc.
I give you one you probably haven't heard of: Iron Mike Norton
I have 4 of his CDs but that is probably because he is a friend of mine. Blues with kind of a dark edge.
Give him a listen:

T C, have you run across Billy Galt? He -- at least he used to be -- a regular in the local Urbana scene. Had a band called the Blues Deacons, used to play on Monday nights with Jeff Kerr at The Office in Urbana (that appears to be closed now). He used to play a lot at an Urbana blues bar, too. The name escapes me now... Anyway, he was/is a great player, especially for a small college scene.LOVE the Canopy Club. I've seen Grace Potter and the Nocturnals there (one of the best shows I've ever seen), as well as Snoop, blitzen trapper and a bunch of other smaller acts.
Also a big blues fan. Yea, I like more, um, well known blues artists (I haven't had the time to really get into any really good older stuff), but I like SRV, BB King (WHO I SAW IN CHAMPAIGN A MONTH AGO!), Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Guy, Robert Johnson...It's just great music that goes with all moods...oh, and all those guys i listed are great guitarists, and fantastic inspiration for when i play...

I dont have Nickelback with the unrelenting rage of some people, but they do tend to be overplayed, which can really be said about most bands that make it on the radio anymore.
Just discovered this awesome band called Nickelback. If you haven't heard them you should listen to How You Remind Me or Photograph. Amazing songs.
My wife and I both like Nickelback and we listen to them frequently.
