I have a friend who works in the Twins front office. He's not a major player, but is essentially a glorified executive assistant. He has clued me in to various things an hour or three before they became public knowledge a few times over the years. He just texted me saying there is chatter in the office that the Cubs were involved in a "very big trade" that was close to completion.

He speculated it could be the Yankees because of the CC/Pettite news.

I have no verification obviously and this is basically hearsay, just thought I'd throw it on here.

It would have come together awfully fast if it is a Yankees deal, but then, the Yankees suddenly have reason to work awfully fast.

What type of return would you guess the cubs would get in return? I'm looking over the Yankees prospects and not too many choices: How about Banuelos or Betances, Tyler Austin, and Adam Warren be too much? not enough? about right?

I fear they will try to push one of their so/so players on us, I guess they could also give up draft picks. I would think a third team would be needed, which might be why the twins are connected to all this...

You have to remember that the Yankees 1st round picks aren't the same as the Twins 1st round picks.
