When was the last time the Cubs had a decent switch hitter?
Are these over hyped these days?
Seems to me like having at least one strong-bat-regular we can line up from either side everyday would be an asset to the lefty vs. righty line-ups.

I'm shooting from the hip, but it seems like they're down, overall, in recent years. Anyone know a way to dig into that?

Did a quick search and didn't come up with much. I did however find a switch pitcher Pat Venditte in the Yankees organization. Here is a video.

I have seen some video of this guy before. It's pretty crazy he can do that. Also they created a new rule because of this guy. If he is facing a switch hitter, he has to pick which side he is pitching from then the batter gets to pick his side. After that they must stay on those sides. Venditte says they use splits to determine which side he would pitch from against any particular switch hitter.Did a quick search and didn't come up with much. I did however find a switch pitcher Pat Venditte in the Yankees organization. Here is a video.

This percentage of MLB hitters, by which side(s) they hit. I got it from baseball ratings.net who did a nice little study of the issue.I'm shooting from the hip, but it seems like they're down, overall, in recent years. Anyone know a way to dig into that?

Don't knock Bellhorn, the all time Cubs switch hit homerun leader, who has hit hr's playing at each of the four infield positiions in one season and hit a home run from each side of the plate in the same inning as a Cub. Other decent switch hitters they have had since I've been alive;Mark Bellhorn

Jose Vizcaino and Brian McRae, not a very long list, and neither was great, just decent for a few years.
