A dastardly case of local crime in Kansas City had a 14-foot Royals player statue go missing from a billboard, presumably stolen for his ivory tusks or soft animal pelt … or maybe it was just drunk idiots being drunk idiots.
In any case, the missing statue was found in a field across from the billboard where it originally went missing, likely brought back by the thieves after they realized a ceramic statue contains neither ivory nor pelts:

In all seriousness, I can understand why the culprits would be interested in stealing from a Royals billboard – they know how to do billboard.
