stadium home-run creativity...aside from fireworks....was the apple at old Shea the first stadium HR celebration prop? I know most new stadiums have something ridiculous like this (e.g., Miami)...but was that the first?

Close call on Dempster's scoreless streak there. One-out triple, but he strands 'em. His 24 inning streak is the longest since Maddux back in 1990 (25.2).

even with all those runs in the 1st...Niese's pitch count at 47 through 4... Dempster at 46 through 3.

Nice job by Maholm to get the DP and out of the inning. Dempster helps the organization with a very good five innings.
