Cubs lead, again! I'm having a difficult time telling myself not to get used to this.

...and I'm asking something even more puzzling, like: "Who are these guys?"

I don't think we can underestimate the value of the pitching staff lately. Also, having Rizzo's bat in the lineup is making it a lot more respectable. The team had stretches of good play, but it's nice to see them putting this run together.

I think too that we're seeing the work of the front office taking hold.

Garza doing a nice job of moving in and out today. Hopefully he maintains his location.

I wonder how Theo&Co are measuring the impact and anticipated benefit of trading Garza and Dempster? That has got to loom as a big question mark in their collective mind....especially seeing how those two are delivering.

I've been going back and forth on it all year, I can only imagine how hard of a decision that has to be for them. While I'd love for them to stick around and help this team to respectability the next few years, I think stocking up on prospects this year and next is probably the best strategy for the organization in the long run.

Rizzo could end up winning the NL batting title. Guy just keeps getting hits!

Dempster had 5 K's in the 6 he pitched. Garza has 5 here in the 3rd.

I think Brenly just fused Paul Janish and Zack Cozart in his mind while talking about Billy Hamilton taking the Cincinatti ss job.

The thing I hinge on is in that old saying: "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." Risk is a terrible thin thread on which to hang success. And that is what trade prospects present imho.

I agree, but the more high end prospects that they acquire, the more chances that they hit on one of them. I

Well, at least that pitch was closer than the one in the first.

Two on two outs for the "threatening" Db's. Matt's gotta bring-it.....and strand those two on.
