Leadership from the quarterback is the most valuable aspect of the game’s most important position, but it’s nearly impossible to quantify. Even still, there’s something particularly endearing about Mitch Trubisky coaxing his teammates to join him in California for workouts.
And wide receiver Allen Robinson can see the value already:

Robinson didn’t get the luxury of working out with his future teammates last year when Trubisky first started dragging folks to work out with him during the offseason in California. Because at this time last year, Robinson was in the midst of rehabbing an ACL injury that cost him all but a handful of snaps in his final season with the Jaguars. But with having cleared that hurdle last year, Robinson can now focus on building up toward the season with football activities. And that he is doing so with Trubisky is exactly the kind of news we love seeing this time of year.
And if that wasn’t enough, Robinson telling Bears sideline reporter Mark Grote the Bears offense is “years ahead” of where it was last year really takes the cake. Chicago’s offense was a much-improved group from what it was under John Fox and Dowell Loggains, but the peaks and valleys were real as growing pains were evident. But since that group isn’t spending the offseason doing installation, it should be full-steam ahead for Trubisky and friends.
