Wood will not go much longer given his 91+ pitch count. Yet, his saving grace is keeping his club only 1 run behind----which the Cubs had chances to erase. Hope the Cubs can let Wood exit with at least a tie.

Credit for what? It wasn't a quality start and on a day where this team really needed a deep start he didn't get it done.

Obviously it was better than the last three HR fests he's had, but still, 98 pitches through 5 innings isn't great. Still not buying him.

Let me see if I got this right. Dale Sveum let Travis Wood hit in the bottom of the 5th, then substituted him for Manny Corpas in the top of the 6th, is that it?!

And now, I would think the Pittsburgh bullpen is coming in, which means game...over. Their bullpen is freaking nails. I'd love to see the Cubs come through but it's a tough task against the Pirates. Here's to someone getting lucky.

Not making an argument for you "buying him". Just reporting on his today work. I am not a fan of Wood----T. Wood----but based on today, he will live to have another go---my opinion only.
