Hands down, Paulie was my favorite Cub this year. He is fierce, a guy who bears down and works his butt off, and deserves his shot at a pennant race. And as we all know, when he gets hot, he is nearly unhittable. He's been pitching for almost 10 years in organizations that don't really have a legitimate shot at contending. Now he gets his chance to shine, win it all AND post his first winning record in his Major League career. Awesome, right?

What a story. And I hope he captures it. Heck I want him to go 12-0 down the stretch with one of those generic video-game ERAs (like 1.80 or something).

So here is my thread to watch/support/obsess over Paulie. Regular updates coming.

* Paul makes his Braves debut on Saturday against the Houston Astros (Lucas Harrell, 8-7 with a 4.03 ERA).

It would also be inappropriate of me not to include Reed Johnson. RJ has played in 2 games, most recently going 1-3 last night.

*Johnson: .429/.429/.984

I hope Paul and Reed lead those chokers to a wild card this time. Just keep the cardinals out of it.

Is Reed gonna play everday? I know left field's been a black hole for them ever since they moved Chipper back to 3B

Yah, I liked Maholm this year. I was trying to work out what he was doing with a Rivera-style cutter added on. Never found good data on it, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

I'll be watching, and hoping for the best for Maholm.

Good thread, Luke D.
