I mean, numbers back it up easily. What he meant to the franchise, and for baseball...you can't put into words. #21 needs to be retired.

it's the corked bat
it's the zombie thing
it's quitting on the team
it was being a bad teammate in general (hogging the boombox, showing up late to spring training, primadonna act)
HOF or not I don't think Sosa has made any moves to repair relations with the team and Theo and Jed got better things to worry about.
Like I don't know about the rest of you but I was 12 in 1998 and he was my hero. When he got busted with the corked bat even my High School Principal mocked me... Sosa's downfall taught me to kill your heroes and have some faith in yourself.

IDK there are 3 miles stones that have always been deemed automatic (3000 hits, 300 wins, 600 HRs) so the whole 600 HR club is a tough milestone to ignore, the next few years will be interesting to how the hall treats these "roid" players. If he does get in the HOF it will be tough for the Cubs not to retire his number. I think these next few HOF ballots will be very interesting to see how it all plays out.HOF???? you kidding me. Soriano's #12 has a better chance of getting there before Sammy at this point. It'll be interesting to see how they get pass the steroid era in HOF voting for years to come.
