AL:; Team (seed), rest of the division standings at season's end
East: Yankees (2), Rays, Orioles, Red Sox Blue Jays
Central: Tigers: (3), White Sox, Indians. Royals, Twins
West: Rangers: (1), Angels, A's, Mariners
Wild Card 1: Angels
Wild Card 2: White Sox
NL:
East: Braves (3), Nats, Marlins, Mets, Phils
Central: Reds (1), Cards, Pirates, Brewers, Cubs, DisAstros
West: Giants (2), Dodgers, D Backs, Padres, Rockies
Wild Card 1: Nationals
Wild Card 2: Toughest call of all. I don't see the Pirates hanging in. Comes down to the Cardinals vs. Dodgers here. I guess I have to pick the Cardinals
Playoffs:
AL Wild Card Playoff: Angels over White Sox
ALDCS
Angels (4) over Rangers (1) in 4
Tigers (3) over Yankees (2) in 5
NL Wild Card Playoff: Nationals over Cardinals
NLDCS
Nationals (4) over Reds (1) in 4
Giants (2) over Braves (3) in 5
ALCS: Tigers over Angels in 6
NLCS: Giants over Nationals in 5
World Series: Tigers over Giants in 7 games which few people outside of Detroit and San Francisco watch. Game 7 is beaten in the ratings by Waynes World II and re-runs of MASH and The Cosby Show.
It seems like their are several fringe contenders, such as the A's, Orioles, Rays, D Backs, that simply failed to make the necessary moves that could have been the difference between watching and playing in October, and with the extra WC spot, even seemingly minor moves could have been diference makers.
One thing about the extra Wild Card is that it increases the need for front end starting pitching. Obviously, in the 1 game WC playoff each team is going to want their top starter (I avoid using the term "Ace" too loosely.) As a result, when the LDCS comes along, that pitcher won't be able to start until probably game 3, so their 2 starter will be up against the opponents 1. On the othe hand, this will also probably result in that WC team starting their top starter vs. the opponents #3.

And Soto blocking the plate? And who's bearing down on him, but... Marlon Byrd, the late season free agent signee!Rangers and Braves in the World Series. Through some odd scheduling, Dempster ends up pitching Game 7. 0-0 tie, complete game, Reed Johnson with a pinch hit walkoff suicide squeeze. Awww yeah
