The Cubs closed out the first half with a plop – a game in which they came back multiple times, only to have the Cardinals close it out with a four spot in the 9th (off of Kevin Gregg … hopefully folks buy into the “closers in a non-save situation give up lots of runs” thing). Travis Wood didn’t get his team record 18th quality start before the All-Star break. Matt Guerrier had a rough outing for the first time with the Cubs. Alfonso Soriano had a bad game. Anthony Rizzo wasn’t much better. At least Darwin Barney was awesome.
