Mathematically, there are only 14 teams left the Astros could catch. They could eliminate the DBacks today and bring Milwaukee and Seattle to the doorstep today.
There are 26 the Cubs could catch but as many as five within reach of the brink of elimination today.

Houston Astros 42 94 0.309 68 18 Chicago Cubs 51 84 0.378 78 23 Minnesota Twins 56 80 0.412 82 27 Colorado Rockies 56 78 0.418 84 27 Cleveland Indians 58 78 0.426 84 25 Miami Marlins 60 76 0.441 86 27 Toronto Blue Jays 60 75 0.444 87 27 Kansas City Royals 61 74 0.452 88 26 Boston Red Sox 63 74 0.46 88 26 San Diego Padres 63 74 0.46 88 25 New York Mets 64 72 0.471 90 26 Philadelphia Phillies 65 71 0.478 91 26 Seattle Mariners 66 71 0.482 91 26 Milwaukee Brewers 66 69 0.489 93 27 Arizona Diamondbacks 67 70 0.489 92 22
