As time goes on, it looks more and more like Verlander is the MVP favorite. Bautista is on a 4th place team, Granderson is 5th in the league in OPS, Gonzalez/Ellsbury/Pedroia are all teammates so it can be argued that no one of them is necessarily the team's MVP, much less the MVP of the league. The top candidates all have flaws, Verlander has been so ridiculously good, he has to part of the conversation.
