Jake Arrieta starts for the Cubs in his debut with the club. He’s obviously one to watch as we look ahead to the near-term future.
You’re going to look at the lineup, and you’re going to see things – Nate Schierholtz out against a righty, Darwin Barney sitting. You’re going to want to do some mental gymnastics and predict a trade. Sure, maybe that’s what’s up. Obviously the Schierholtz smoke is quite billow-y right now. But, keep in mind: this is Game Two of a doubleheader. Sometimes the lineup looks wonky because it’s Game Two of a doubleheader.
