Cubs Fact:

In 1998, Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa hit a record 20 homers in June en route to 66 on the season.

To put into perspective how long ago that was, Soriano was still in the minors. His first cup of coffee with the Yankees wasn't until 1999 when he got 8 plate appearances.

Totally. The summer of '98 was one of the best and the worst of my life (personally) -- at least the Cubs season was consistently fun.

(Yeah, until...)

It really does seam like it was only a couple of years ago. '98 was awesome. I had just turned 21, graduated college and was living in Indy on my own. I thought I was making money hand over fist and it went out as fast as it came in. I can't say I remember everything that happened that year, but it was one of the funnest periods of my life. Looking back on it, even though I had fun, I am glad about where I am in life now.

Change the name of the city, and this is pretty much my story (if you include some familial estrangement, a crazy girlfriend, and a month or so of Dead tour).

Looking back on it, even though I had fun, I am glad about where I am in life now.

Exactly.
