Cubs Trivia:

On September 24, 1970, who struck out three Phillies batters on nine pitches for the Cubs?

I think your date is a few days off, everywhere I look says the Cubs played the Cards on September 24, 1970, which is followed by the Phillies series. Still don't know who the pitcher is, even after looking for the answer.

Ken Holtzman pitched a CG that day against the Cardinals

looking through baseball reference I think you're mean 1971 and this game -- http://www.baseball-...197109240.shtml which means it must be Milt Pappas since he's the only Cubs pitcher with more than one strikeout

Even with misinformation ( I typed exactly what it said), the calendar can not stump the wizards of the message board. Pappas is correct.

I did some more research and LaTroy Hawkins of all people was the last Cub to accomplish it
