As I delve deeper and deeper into the Sabermetric world I constantly find stats I love more than the stats I used to. OPS replaced BA, wOBA replaced OPS, wRAA replaced WAR (on offense). On the pitching side I have found SIERA, FIP, XFIP. Mmmm, it's a good time to be a stat man.
With that said, my latest crush is wRAA (which uses wOBA to determine # of runs better than average the player is based on PA).
Is there an equivalent stat on the pitching side? Is there a wOBAA somewhere out there, is there a wRAAA out there or is there a stat that tells you how many runs better/worse a pitcher is than average?
