Angels have interest with attempted Haren deal, moved Jordan Walden already, have too many outfielders as is, and Bourjois can fly....and he's from Park Ridge *bonus* Here's your starting CF to compete with Jackson/Sappelt.

The Angels site mentions a lot of possibilities:

...but they seem to be interested in a proven starter. I hate to say it, but what about Garza for Bourjois and a prospect package?

I would rather take 3B Luis Jimenez. He'll be 25 next season. Ready to hit, has some speed, 20 errors at 3B last year, could platoon with Stewart right away. Get Valbuena to platoon with Barney at 2B. That way, you only have one mediocre positional bat in your lineup (assuming Stewart rakes). Ranked #9 on Angels' prospect list.

The FO may like 3B Andrew Romine better-a little less power than Jimenez, but takes more walks and better glove. Bats left, hits lefties equally well.

Kole Calhoun would be a good OF prospect to pick up, too. He's #5 on the Angels' prospect list. Lefty, big boy.

Yeah, I wouldn't want Peter Bourjos, when all of these guys are blocked and have better, potential offensive futures. We already have 3-4 defensive specialists that only hit .225, we don't need any more.

Mike Taylor, while I agree that the angels have other minor league prospects who might end up outperforming bourjos, we're talking about giving them marmol, certainly nothing major!

I'd be happy with bourjos for marmot! Bourjos is just 25 and might find better success in the national league and, as you mentioned, he plays solid d and has speed.

I'd rather keep Marmol around for a while to see what Fujikawa can or can't do against MLB hitters. If both of them are doing well, there may multiple teams searching for bullpen help at the trading deadline.

If that's the best we can do for Marmol, then hang on to him until the trade deadline, if his first half matches his 2012 second half then his value increases greatly.

Totally agree. Marmol is not the bum that so many think he is. Guy still has one of the best sliders in the game and his fastball isn't horrible. We so quickly forget how dominant this guy was at one time. Yes - he has control issues, but he's got good enough stuff that he's certainly worth hanging on to rather than just give him away for a second tier starter or bench player.

Worst case scenario, we use him as a middle reliever in spot situations, but he showed last year that he's still capable of closing.

I can live with that. But I am one of those people who firmly believe that Garza has to throw and prove that he can throw well in ST before we get any serious offers for him. But if that is what happens, I can definitely live with that. :)
