Hey, I am new to this side of bleacher nation, so bear with me. I am curious about how much is enough in terms of Olt. I have heard Marmol and a prospect, I have heard Garza for Olt and a prospect, I think I have even heard Sori for Olt straightup. What should we give up for Olt, if we should even pursue him at all?

First, I don't think Texas is going to trade Olt after they lost Hamilton and traded away Michael Young. They are going to need his bat, and there is a scarcity of young, MLB ready third baseman around.

If Texas was willing to trade him, I wouldn't mind Garza for Olt + prospect(s). I

Where would Texas play Olt? They already have a top 5 third baseman in Beltre and look like they're going to move Kinsler to either the OF/1st/DH (places where Olt could have played) to accommodate Profar at 2nd.

I think they would only do Garza for Olt + (hopefully Leoyns Martin) if he shows he can throw in ST.

I would most certainly go after Olt. Olt has a nice ceiling, and with Olt I think you can start to build a package around Baez and Vogelbach for Price next season; if everything goes right that is.

Vogelbach hasn't even played Low A ball, yet. I think a lot of fans are putting way too much stock into his trade value right now.

eh.. Maybe. Highly touted comming out of HS. Bat has shown legit so far. Sickels has him at a solid B borderline B+. A lot fo scouts think his bat is for real. Like I said, a lot will have to go right to get Price, and Baez and Vogelbach making strides foward is part of that. But if Vogelbach continues to tear the cover off the ball you better believe he will be highly sout after.

Really? David Price is a monster. Shields himself, a much lesser pitcher, fetched arguably the best prospect in baseball. I actually don't think Baez and Vogel are enough. I think either Maples or Underwood need to pop this season, as well as baez cemmenting himself as a top 10 baseball prospects, as well as Vogel continuing to mash the ball before TB considers it.

I think a Price for Baez, Vogelbach and Maples could work if all those things come to fruition.
