"Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. The dominant families are the Houses Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve as Hand of the King, or highest official [Advisor to the King]. Secretly warned that the previous Hand was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile the Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power. Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. All while a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest North."

That seems a bit dicey, no?
I don't have the Hibbo, so I look forward to seeing it on DVD.

Here is my list of all-time best HBO series (dramas):
1. Sopranos
2. Game of Thrones
3. Deadwood
4. True Blood (This last season was not as good as the others in my opinion)
If you get the chance...Thrones is a great book too. However, there is not as much nudity in the book as there is on the show.

Boardwalk Empire also rules.
True Blood is hit and miss. The second season blew, in my opinion. The Big Salad girl just wasn't a worthy big bad. Seasons 1, 3, and 4 are definitely worth watching... though I remember having criticisms with all of them.
Breaking Bad (AMC, not HBO) is the best written drama on TV... probably the best there ever will be.

I'm sorry, your list is wrong and I am revoking your man card. No real man would rank True Blood as number 4 and not even have the greatest show ever made (The Wire) on their list.I have been a long time fan of HBO and I agree Game of Thrones ranks up there as one of their best series.

I like Game of Thrones, but it seems too much like real life. You know, only the people that no one can stand ever have anything good happen to them. Seriously, I don't thing G.Martin even likes the characters that he is writing about, he does some crazy and f'd up things to them.

"Mr. Show with Bob and David" is the greatest thing HBO ever put on the air and where is Six Feet Under?I have been a long time fan of HBO and I agree Game of Thrones ranks up there as one of their best series.

Although I do concede that True Blood has gotten pretty girly as of late, it still was a pretty good show early on.
I never watched Six Feet Under because I did not have HBO when it started but I have heard good things though.
I did specify drama or Curb Your Enthusiasm would of certainly made the list. I have seen some of the Mr. Show episodes and it was pretty funny. One of my favorite Curb episodes is when Bob Odenkirk played a cameo as "Porno Gil".

No way LOTR is better that Game of Thrones. George RR Martin is easily the best writer of all time. His books are so unpredictable, I feel like every time I read even a chapter of Game of Thrones I end up putting the book down and saying to myself Holy Shit I can't believe that just happened.Lord of the Rings baby, alwaya Lord of the Rings

Agreed, and any discussion on great writers must include Tom Robbins. No, he's not.
George RR Martin is easily the best writer of all time.
I mean, he may be great. He may be really, really, really great. But the best writer of all time, Sam? You crazy, dude.
