When Jerome Walton won the National League Rookie of the Year in 1989, which teammate finished second in the voting?

1989, what a year. Who remembers who the winning pitcher was that ended the Cubs season in the playoffs that year against the Giants?

Having trouble remembering the Giants pitching staff. I know they had a lot of ex-Cubs. Was it one of those?

Believe me, that was lucky. I just said Reuschel because you said he was one of your favorites... I thought Reuschel would be the most logical at that point, but I wanted to say Lefferts. I just looked up the 89 Giants and these appear to be all the ex-Cubs and soon to be ex-Cubs pitchers. Not sure if they were all suited up for the playoffs though:

Gossage
Mulholland (a future opening day Cubs starter!)
