The Cubs play a day-night doubleheader today in split squad action, though one game is on the road … so is it really a doubleheader? The games are threatened by inclement weather, by the way, so it’s possible only one game, or neither game, gets off today.
In the early game against the Giants, Travis Wood will make his Spring debut. There’s no uncertainty about his rotation spot, so he’s just getting his work in. Be safe and be healthy, Travis.
In the later game against the Diamondbacks, Edwin Jackson makes his Spring debut. While, similarly, there’s no doubt about his rotation spot, Jackson is coming off of a disappointing year (albeit one driven by some bad luck), so his Spring will probably be watched a little more closely. Not that we’ll really be able to glean much meaningful stuff.
There will be audio for the game on Cubs.com if you’ve got an audio subscription or MLB.tv (correct me if I’m wrong on that).
There are a lot of prospects projected to be in action today, so of course rain would threaten the day.
